During my first copywriting internship in 2013, I worked on a pitch for 99 Cents Only Stores. An LA-based musician lost 250 pounds on a so-called ‘99 Cents Only Store diet,’ and we were tasked with building a campaign around his story. Our goal was to show that a healthy lifestyle doesn’t have to cost a fortune. But hey, that’s just our 99 cents worth.
